Welcome to Mommas Forty! Being in what some call “mid-life” is an exciting time for me! I don’t believe life is half over at forty…in many ways, it is simply the beginning of a new chapter.
I love writing and researching and learning. I have written personal blogs at different times of my life as a way to connect with others, but also to encourage others in their journeys!
I have recently turned 40 during this whole COVID-19 pandemic. What an interesting time we live in!
Though I am overweight, I have lived an active lifestyle for many years. I have never let the number on the scale stop me from doing what I want to do. That number is simply that….a number.
Last year while training for a 100km Ultramarathon, I was having issues with the leggings I was wearing for running. They kept slipping down and I was constantly pulling up on the legs and waist. Plus they were too warm. Because of this, I started researching into good, high quality brands of leggings.
I came across Zyia. I had never heard of Zyia, but the reviews seemed pretty good. Then I seen that they were a direct sales company. I had never seen or tried on a single piece of Zyia, but I signed up to be a rep because I wanted the rep discount! I knew if I didn’t like the clothes when I got my kit, I could return it for a full refund.
Now a year later, I am loving this brand and this company, and decided the best way for me to show others about Zyia, is to write about their clothes, company, and what Zyia has done for me!
WHY I WANT TO HELP YOU
Crossing the number line into “mid-life” can be especially challenging for women. For those who started families in their early twenties, the kids are growing up and moving out. They don’t need us as often, and it can leave an empty place in our lives!
For those who started families a little later, you may have young kids at home, but you still need to do something for YOU! As joyful as raising a family can be, it is also very challenging, and sometimes make women feel like they have lost part of their identity.
And for those who don’t have kids, midlife can be a time of serious reflection! This is a time when we tend to take a deep look at our life, and think about where we are…are we at a place we thought we would be? Are we fulfilled by what we are doing? If not, what has to change?
I believe physical activity is the best therapy for most people out there. Unfortunately many women shy away from these benefits because they don’t feel adequate, or they feel they are too big, too old, too shy…. and the list goes on and on.
I want to eliminate these excuses and encourage women to reach out and do things that scare them… by using examples from my own life and from others lives! Don’t wait for someday, because someday will not happen without you taking the reins on your life right now.
THE GOAL OF YOUR MOMMAS FORTY
My goal with Mommas Forty is to encourage other women reaching this stage in life to go after their dreams. That can mean something different to every person!
Your life is not half over, a new chapter has just begun!
I want to encourage women to participate in group physical activity, and join others with the same desire for leading an active lifestyle. We all come from different walks of life and different backgrounds! But new and lifelong friendships and comradery can be found by getting together to encourage each other in physical fitness endeavours.
I also want to encourage women who are looking to connect with other women in a new business venture to look into Zyia Active. This company has so many encouraging people in it, that many develop strong friendships before ever actually meeting in person!!
